“I often find inspiration in architecture and the quiet, unexpected beauty of everyday surroundings. Glaciers Beneath the Sky began with a floor tile I noticed while exhibiting at a hotel gallery in fall of 2025. Its cool blue tones and layered surface caught my attention and brought to mind the colors and movement of melting glaciers. Looking down at the tile with the open sky above me, I became interested in the relationship between the grounded and the expansive—the ordinary moment becoming something more atmospheric. That experience became the starting point for this set of four works. In the context of Manna, the series reflects on the ways our surroundings, memories, and shared experiences can become forms of sustenance and shape our sense of belonging.”
Christa Collins (b. 1996, Nashville, TN) is an emerging artist based between Atlanta and Nashville, working across painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Rooted in Abstract Expressionism, her practice explores presence, memory, and the emotional and spiritual landscapes beneath the surface through tactile layers, gesture, and raw materiality.
A self-taught artist with a background in fashion and music, Collins creates meditative works shaped by rhythm, intuition, and ongoing spiritual seeking.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast, including at Zeitgeist Gallery (Nashville, TN), Chastain Arts Center (Atlanta, GA), and Kai Lin Gallery (Atlanta, GA). Her work is held in private collections, including Bankers Alley Hotel (Nashville, TN). In 2024, she received Creative Loafing’s Critic’s Pick and was featured in Gulch Magazine (Vol. 1). Collins also participated in the 2025 Atlanta Art Fair.
